What is Buttock Aesthetics?
The primary characteristic of women with androgenic buttocks is a thick waist and narrow hips, which prevent them from achieving a feminine contour. This has led to the emergence of a series of procedures called buttock aesthetics, which have become quite popular recently. The goal of buttock aesthetics is to slim the waistline while increasing the hip curve, either backward or laterally.
Buttock Implants
This procedure involves placing silicone implants, designed to match the natural buttock shape, between the gluteus maximus muscle (gluteus maximus muscle) in patients without a protruding buttocks. Before the surgery, the desired buttock size is calculated based on the patient’s body measurements, and drawings are made to determine the size and placement area of the implant. The procedure is performed in the operating room under general anesthesia. The surgery takes approximately 1.5 hours. A one-day hospital stay is recommended. Patients can return to their daily activities approximately one week after the surgery. Because the implant is placed within the muscle, some pain may be felt with movement for a few days after the surgery. During the same surgery, liposuction can be performed in the waist and abdomen, followed by fat injection to create a rounded contour around the implants. A shaping corset should be worn for 3-4 weeks after surgery. A misconception about buttock implants is that sitting on the buttocks is not recommended after surgery. However, when the implant is placed in a sitting position, it is behind the buttocks, not under them. Additionally, a supportive pillow can be placed under the lumbar curve, allowing the patient to lie on their back from the first day. Buttock implants are lifelong materials. However, the most important point to remember is that injections should not be placed in this area.

Buttock Augmentation with Fat Injection
Brazilian Butt Lift
This procedure has recently become more popular. It involves injecting fat obtained through liposuction into the buttocks, particularly in patients with excess fat in the waist and legs. The advantages of the procedure include the lack of implants and the relatively easier to tolerate nature of the procedure. However, the disadvantages include the need to limit the amount of injected tissue and the loss of volume due to post-procedure loss.
The procedure is performed in the operating room under general anesthesia. The patient is initially positioned supine and the liposuction is performed. The patient is then turned face down and the resulting tissue is used to contour the buttocks. The average surgery time is approximately two hours. A one-day hospital stay is sufficient, and a return to normal activities is possible within five days. It is extremely important to wear a shaping corset for 3-4 weeks after the procedure and to abstain from smoking until the fat tissue adapts to its new location.
Unfortunately, photos of excessively wide buttocks circulating online mislead patients. Because even if sufficient fat tissue is obtained, unfortunately, cases of pulmonary embolism and death have occurred due to excessive injections, and the World Health Organization and other authorities emphasize that a total of 200 cc should not be exceeded in such injections.
