Dr. Tamer Şakrak

I am a specialist in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery based in Kağıthane, Istanbul. I graduated from Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Medicine in 2000 and completed my plastic surgery specialty training in 2010.

Education and professional background

I was born on February 15, 1977, in Nuremberg, Germany, as the youngest child of a working-class family. In 1982, we returned to my family’s hometown, Kaymakçı village in the Ödemiş district of İzmir. I began primary school there. My family made a living through farming and trade, and I grew up familiar with rural life and agricultural work. In 1985, we moved to İzmir, where my father supported our family for many years as a taxi driver. I completed middle and high school in İzmir and graduated from İzmir Atatürk High School in 1994. That same year, I entered Osmangazi University Faculty of Medicine. After graduating in 2000, I worked as a general practitioner in Kocaeli, where I married my wife, Şule Şakrak. I completed my military service as a reserve officer in 2003 and later began my residency in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Eskişehir Osmangazi University.

I became a specialist in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in 2010. During my university years, I carried out numerous studies, particularly in microsurgery, published scientific articles, and received awards. I completed my compulsory service at Erzurum Regional Training and Research Hospital between 2010 and 2011. I then worked at Acıbadem Eskişehir Hospital from 2012 to 2013 and at Esteworld Plastic Surgery Hospital from 2012 to 2014, where I served in clinical leadership and as chief physician. I opened my own clinic in 2014 and continue to practice there. I am the initiator and Founding Chairman of the Board of Orion Plastic Surgery Medical Center, a collective private-sector initiative within the Turkish plastic surgery community. Throughout my professional career, I have performed more than 7,000 operations in Türkiye and abroad. My principal areas of experience include body contouring, post-bariatric surgery, rhinoplasty, and revision rhinoplasty. I am married and have two children.
