SUSPENSION TECHNIQUE

The thread lift procedure is an aesthetic treatment that uses dissolvable threads to lift tissues upwards, minimally invasively correcting sagging in the face or neck. This method, which does not require surgical incisions, tightens the skin, defines facial contours and provides a natural rejuvenated appearance.

Treatment Process

Treatment may vary from person to person, but the general stages are as follows:
Operative Duration

30 - 60 minutes

Hospitalization Duration

Same Day

Return to Activities

1 - 3 days

Full Recovery Time

2 - 3 weeks

Thread Lift Procedures

Thread lift procedures are the process of lifting sagging facial tissues upward using materials made from either absorbable or permanent materials. This procedure has two primary benefits. First, it neutralizes the pulling force exerted by gravity on facial tissues and delays the appearance of signs of aging. Second, it allows sagging tissues to rise. This can be compared to women using bras to prevent sagging breasts in youth and to lift sagging breasts in middle and older age.

What is a French Lift?

The threads used in thread lifts are made of different materials. They can be either absorbable or permanent. Known in Turkey as French lifts, the material is more in demand than other products because of its flexibility, its silicone beads that adhere to the tissue, and its ease of removal in the event of an unfortunate event. Its flexible structure allows the thread to conform perfectly to the face, especially during neck movements and strong facial expressions.

Who are Suitable Patients for a Facelift?

Patients who are suitable for facelifts include:

  • Patients who want to prevent or delay potential facial tissue sagging
  • Patients with mild to moderate sagging in the cheeks, corners of the mouth, or jawline
  • Patients with significant facial sagging who are too young for surgical intervention
  • Patients with significant facial sagging who prefer not to undergo surgery or who have conditions that prevent a surgical procedure.

What is a Dissolvable Thread Lift?

The threads used for this purpose are extremely durable. The spike-like projections on the threads adhere to the surrounding tissue, creating the desired effect. There are two types of thread lift materials: self-dissolving and those that remain in place for extended periods. Dissolvable threads can be used to lift the face, particularly in the treatment of sagging cheekbones and deep facial furrows. The application time is approximately 15 minutes, and results are immediately visible. The effects of a thread lift procedure last for an average of 6 months to 1 year.

What is a Permanent Thread Lift?

Permanent threads can create a facelift effect on faces without excessive sagging. The application of these threads varies slightly. With some brands, the threads are fixed to a point within the scalp and can be resuspended from this point at specific intervals. These threads are generally made of fixed-size materials with no stretch. Flexible materials maintain their effectiveness long after the procedure.

How is Thread Lift Performed?

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and in an office setting. The average treatment time is 15-20 minutes. The procedure is completely painless.

Before and After Thread Lift

It is extremely important to avoid alcohol, aspirin, painkillers, and herbal teas for one week before the procedure.

Using a face mask for approximately one week after the procedure will ensure the threads adhere properly to the tissue. It is also recommended to avoid rubbing your face, avoiding pressure-inducing movements, and sleeping on your side at night for the first week. During the initial procedure, folds of excess skin will appear along the lines where the threads are placed, but they are completely temporary. These skin ripples will disappear on their own within one week. Under normal circumstances, swelling and bruising are not expected after the procedure.

Thread Lift Prices

French Lift prices vary depending on the area to be treated and the number of materials used.

Spider Web Aesthetics

This procedure has been widely discussed and implemented recently, but its limited effectiveness results in extremely low patient satisfaction. Spider web aesthetics is based on the assumption that the threads used do not actually suspend the tissues, but rather tighten the tissue due to the body’s foreign body reaction to the threads.
